The Faraday Sleep Chamber
at Casa Q Coisa, Cumuruxatiba, Bahia. As you can see from photo, 2 metres under ground, 1.5 metre above ground, octagonal in shape. Internal bed room is octagonal with a diameter of 4 metres. Its EMF (Eelectromagnetic Field) protected, using 3 coats of EMF paint, the Turtal brand, grounded and a copper cage, inlaid to the brickwork. The copper cage will be visible, and activates when the cage door is shut and all connections grounded.
Operational from September 2026
Why This Chamber Exists
Sleep is not merely rest.
It is the primary biological repair state in humans — the period during which metabolic waste is cleared, memories are consolidated, autonomic balance is restored, and mitochondrial repair is prioritised.
Modern sleep, however, occurs in an environment profoundly different from that in which human sleep physiology evolved.
Light, noise, temperature instability, and behavioural disruption are well‑recognised sleep stressors. Less well explored is the role of persistent electromagnetic exposure — not as a pathology, but as a form of biological noise.
The Faraday Sleep Chamber at Casa Q Coisa was created to explore a simple question:
What happens to human sleep when the night becomes biologically quiet?
What the Chamber Is (and Is Not)
The Faraday Sleep Chamber is a fully shielded sleeping environment, based on the classical Faraday cage principles, designed to substantially reduce external radiofrequency and electromagnetic fields during sleep.
It is:
A true enclosed structure (not a partial canopy or fabric overlay)
Earth‑buffered and underground
Dark, silent, and thermally stable
Free of screens, LEDs, and wireless emissions
Designed explicitly for sleep.
It is not:
A medical device
A treatment for disease
A claim that EMFs are harmful
A replacement for good sleep hygiene
This chamber does not diagnose or cure.
It creates a condition, then observes what follows.
The Scientific Framing
The chamber is positioned as an N‑of‑1 sleep optimisation and observation environment, consistent with emerging precision‑medicine thinking.
Each participant becomes their own control.
Where appropriate, the chamber allows:
EMF on / EMF off crossover nights
Repeated exposure across multiple nights
Measurement of objective and subjective outcomes
Potential observations include:
Sleep architecture (via wearables)
Heart rate variability
Resting heart rate
Sleep efficiency and fragmentation
Subjective sleep depth and recovery
Daytime cognitive or perceptual markers
No claims are made in advance.
The emphasis is on pattern recognition, not proof.
Why Casa Q Coisa
Location matters.
Casa Q Coisa sits on the remote Atlantic coast of southern Bahia, 17° south of the equator, with:
Low baseline radiofrequency noise
Minimal urban electromagnetic clutter
Strong circadian light–dark contrast
Earth‑buffered thermal stability
A wellness culture grounded in slowness, walking, fasting, and restoration
The Faraday Sleep Chamber is not an isolated technology.
It is part of an ecology of recovery.
Who This Is For
The chamber is intended for:
Clinicians curious about sleep physiology
Individuals with long‑standing sleep dissatisfaction
High‑functioning people seeking deeper recovery
Those interested in quantified self and longitudinal change
People who value experience combined with measurement
It is not marketed to the anxious, the alarmed, or the medically dependent.
Medicine has often advanced not by adding stimulation, but by removing interference.
The Faraday Sleep Chamber represents a deliberately modest experiment:
Remove noise, block EMF
Observe adaptation
Respect individual variation
And hopefully your improved sleep will speak for itself, time will tell.
Casa Q Coisa makes no promises — only provides the space.
