STEALTH PATHOGEN SYNDROMES...

Thank you Dr A Mcdonald, Dr Joe Jemseck and Dr Armin Schwarzbach ,Dr Judy Mikovits and Dr Marjo Valonen and all at AONM for a fascinating conference in London on Sunday 15th of May,2016. Here are some of my thoughts from that day.....

The aircraft above is from the Stealth range of USAF. A variety of technological tricks and designs are used to help this aircraft avoid detection with radar etc....

What is becoming apparent is that  many of us carry multiple viral, fungal, bacterial, parasitical loads and these may be causing, in conjunction with individually primed over or under active immune systems, the perfect storm for multiple ongoing symptoms. The science of Immunology is a rapidly developing field of medicine and each month brings new breakthroughs in understanding.

To this end I have coined  the name Stealth Pathogen Syndromes which I feel more accurately defines what goes on in some of our patients. As our medically given approach to diagnosis is very reductionist and increasingly specialised its easy to miss the wood for the trees and vice versa.

As in the early decades in dealing with HIV and AIDS ( Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome ), co-infections, were as important to treat as the HIV itself.

Is the immune system dysfunctional because of all these Stealth Pathogens or have the Pathogens become active because of the dysfunctional immune system. The jury is out on these questions....

Which came first ?, ....the truth will probably eventually be that its a bit of both...

The conference was stimulating and threw up some interesting ideas as to how to help our patients manage their symptoms on a daily basis. Onwards.....
